The products of a chemical reaction are the substances that are produced by a chemical reaction. They are on the right side of the arrow in a chemical equation.
The reactants of a chemical reaction are the substances that are used up by a chemical reaction. They are on the left side of the arrow in a chemical equation.
The state of matter of a given substance in a chemical reaction can be known using the small letters in subscript next to the names of each substance in a chemical equation. g stands for gaseous, l (often written in cursive like this: 𐦪) stands for liquid, s stands for solid, and aq stands for aqueous.
