When you throw a ball up, it slows down and stops before falling back down due to gravity. The time it takes to go up isn't exactly the same as the time it takes to come down because the ball's speed changes in each direction.
This is because when the ball falls, air resistance gradually increases, making the trip down just a bit slower. But if there is no air resistance, the time should be the same since the distance and acceleration are the same.
