    Hi Freddy,

Let \(x\) be the number of boys attending Bayside High School et \(y\) be the number of girls attending Bayside High School.

Since there are 1370 students total, we have \[x + y = 1370\]Since 30% of the boys have a pet home and 24% of the girls have a pet home, and 360 students have a pet home, we also have \[0.30x + 0.24y = 360\]Do you see why ?

    You can then solve the system of linear equations. \[x + y = 1370\] \[0.30x + 0.24y = 360\]

You can use different methods, but here the elimination method may be the prefered one.
