    Remember that any number to the power of another is really that first number multiplied by itself by the other number of times. For instance :

    $$ 3^5 $$

    3 to the power of 5 is 3 multiplied by itself 5 times :

    $$ 3^5 = 3 \times 3 \times 3 \times 3 \times 3 = 243 $$

    Here is another example :

    $$ 2^4 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 = 16 $$

    Therefore, 4 to the power of 5 equals :

    $$ 4^5 = 4 \times 4 \times 4 \times 4 \times 4 $$
