Hi!
Thank you for your question! :)
The PPCM of two numbers is the smallest multiple of these two numbers.
To find the PPCM of two numbers, you can list the multiples of each number, and stop as soon as you find a common multiple. To find multiples of a number, simply multiply that number by another number (multiples of 16 are 16×1=16, 16×2=32, 16×3=48, etc.)
For example, the PPCM of 16 and 24 is 48, because it is the lowest common multiple between 16 and 24. These numbers also have other common multiples, such as 144 and 288, but they are not their lowest common multiple.
The PGCD of two numbers is the greatest divisor of these two numbers.
To find the PGCD of two numbers, you must make a list of all the divisors of each of these numbers, then identify the greatest common divisor.
For example, the PGCD of 16 and 24 is 8, because it is the greatest common divisor between 16 and 24. These numbers also have other common divisors, namely 2 and 4, but it is not their greatest common divisor.
Here are sheets and videos on the concept of PPCM:
And these are for the PGCD:
Do not hesitate if you have other questions :)
