First, cuts and sections both give important information about technical drawings.
A cross-section is a drawing that is cut by an axis line and allows one to see the "hidden" details of an object. It allows us to see details that underlie certain structures, as is possible to see in the image below.

The hatched sections allow us to see where the cut was made; in this case, we can see the holes that pass through the object.
Warning!! It is not necessary to draw the outline of the hidden lines, as it would make understanding the object more difficult.
In contrast, the section shows only part of the object in a section plane. The image below is a sample section.

We can thus see that there are more details in a section and only the surface of the object is shown.
