Hello !
A motion transfer mechanism (also known as motion transmission mechanism) transmits movement from one organ to another while preserving its type. For instance, if the driving movement is a translational movement, then the movement performed by the driven member will also be a translation.
For example, a gear system transmits rotational movement from gear to another.
A motion transformation mechanism transmits movement from one organ to another, without preserving its type, that is, changing it. A motor member which performs a rotational movement could, for example, cause a translation in the driven member.
For example, in a screw and nut system, the screw’s rotation may cause the nut to carry out a translational movement.
I hope that answers your question! Don't hesitate to come back to us :)
