Hello, I have a question about tides. Can you please clarify the definition of Spring tides and Neap tides? I don’t really understand this picture:)) thank you so much!

    Spring tides happen when the Sun and Moon are aligned. These tend to be much higher than usual, because the combined gravity of the Sun and the Moon raise waters more.


    Neap tides happen when the Sun and Moon are completely misaligned. These tend to be much higher than usual, because the Sun's gravity slightly counteracts the effects of the Moon's gravity, therefore raising waters less.


    Most tides are neither spring tides nor neap tides, but rather intermediates between both stages.
