i would like to know when to use "good" and "great".

ex)- have a good vacation.(i think i've never seen this before...)

- have a great vacation.

      The word good can mean, as an adjective, to be desired or approved of but it can also mean having the qualities required for a particular role. As an noun, this word refers to something that is morally right/ righteousness or a benefit/ an advantage to someone or something. Finally, as an adverb, it means "well".

      However, the word great, as an adjective, defines an extent, amount, or intensity considerably above the normal or average or an ability, quality, or eminence considerably above the normal or average. As a noun, it refers to an important or distinguished person and as an adverb, it means "excellently".
