    Thank you for this question. :)

    In fact, the simple past "did you see ..." refers to an event in the past while the present perfect "have you seen ..." suggests a link with the present time.

    So, if you want to talk about something you could have see but cannot anymore, "did you see" is more appropriate. However, if you want to talk about about something you can check out whenever you want, "have you seen" is more appropriate.
