To rewind means to go back.

First, "to make a recording go back towards the beginning."

Second, "to go back, or to make something go back, to an earlier time."

To rewind also means to wrap again.

More precisely, "to wrap something around an object several times or twist it repeatedly around itself, for the second time or more."
