Student Question

Secondary IV • 1yr.

Hello

I have to prepare to write an essay, but I don't know the topic or question.

How would one take notes in preparation for this essay if we are given a book, articles and videos?

Thanks in advance

    Hi!

I suggest that you note any information, statistic that could help you write arguments. Since you don't know the question before you read the texts, you should be noting a variety of information. You could need citations, statistics, scientific proof depending on the subject.

I suggest you read this concept sheet on how to to take notes. It is in french, but the content also applies to english.

I hope this helped! If you have another question, don't hesitate to ask! We'll be happy to help! :D
