To convert a percentage to a fraction:
You must first change the percentage to a fraction out of 100.
36% = 36/100
Finally, we reduce the fraction if possible.
36100 = (36 ÷ 4)/(100 ÷ 4) = 9/25
If we want to do the opposite and therefore change a fraction into a percentage:
We put the fraction on a denominator which is equal to 100. If we have 9/25, knowing that 100 ÷ 25 = 4, multiply the numerator and denominator by 4.
9/25 = (9⋅4)/(25⋅4) = 36/100
Since the percentage % = 1/100, we can now find 36/100 = 36%
