    Good evening!

I give you the definition of imperialism according to the alloprof file: imperialism is a policy of expansion and domination of one country over another. The country which practices this policy tries to create an empire, in which it imposes its decisions on the culture, economic, military, etc.

Following the industrial revolution of the 18th century, large industries have a need for raw materials in order to make manufactured goods .

In the 19th century, the European powers decided to explore the territory of Africa in order to exploit more territories than just the coasts. Colonial empires therefore divided Africa for its raw materials, cheap labor and potential consumers. This exploitation makes it possible to supply the raw material needs of large industries and, at the same time, to open up a new consumer market.

    Hope that answers your question!
