Recognition of Civil Rights and Freedoms

Secondary 1-2

The 20th century saw a number of major conflicts, the two best known of which are undoubtedly the two world wars. At the same time as these numerous conflicts, several population groups were victims of racism, discrimination and exploitation. These included blacks, women and colonised populations. Movements were born to fight for equality and justice. Thanks to these men and women, certain civil rights and freedoms were gradually recognised.
